Ümit ÇAVUŞ was born in 1988 in Dobrich, Bulgaria. In 1999, he won the Trakya University State Conservatory exams and was elected to the Trumpet department. He started his first trumpet studies with Mehmet ÇELİK. He continued to work with Serdar DONDURAN and Alper ÇAM, respectively. He graduated from Trakya University State Conservatory in 2009. Between 2010-2013, he completed Master of Music in Wind Instruments (Trumpet) at Trakya University, Institute of Social Sciences. He started Doctor of Music in Wind Instruments (Trumpet) in 2014 and graduated in 2019.
In 2002, he received an award in the Young Musicians competition held in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2007, he was elected to the 2009-10-11 staff of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra, which was founded under the leadership of Cem Mansur. He participated in many concerts in Italy, Germany and Turkey with Ayla ERDURAN and Salvatore ACCARDO with this orchestra. Since 2005, he has participated in concerts in many countries such as Turkey, Germany, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria with the Trakya University Balkan Symphony Orchestra. He still works as principal trumpet in this orchestra. He continues to give concerts with Trakya-Uni Brass Band, which he founded in 2017. He is the conductor of the Wind Youth Orchestra, which consists of Secondary School, High school, Undergraduate, Master and Doctor of Music students within the body of Trakya University State Conservatory.
In 2014, he started to work as Assistant at Trakya University State Conservatory. In 2021, Associate Professor He has been appointed as a member of the staff and teaches Trumpet, Chamber Music, Recital Performance, Basic Techniques in Wind Instruments, Transcription and Orchestral Repertoire at Secondary School, High School, Undergraduate and Master levels.
