  • Optimizing SNR For Indoor Visible Light Communication By Using TLBO Algorithm: This article explores the selection of Communication Light-Emitting Diodes (C-LEDs) in a multiuser indoor visible light communication system. It is aimed to obtain uninterrupted and quality communication by selecting appropriate communication LEDs depending on the location of the users. In indoor visible light communication, the data from a group of C-LEDs reach the receiver through multiple transmission paths directly or as a result of reflections. Inter-symbol interference occurs due to these multiple transmission paths. As a result, the signal-to-noise ratio and the communication quality decrease. In this study, to guarantee a low bit error rate and high enough signal-to-noise ratio values for all users, a Teaching-Learning Based Optimization algorithm based on a valid rate threshold was used for selecting communication LEDs for the first time. The simulation results showed that the Teaching-Learning Based Optimization algorithm is suitable to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Also, the time required to select the communication LEDs was shortened by determining the appropriate valid rate threshold value. When the Teaching-Learning Based Optimization algorithm was compared with other metaheuristic optimization algorithms used in the literature, it was seen that a better signal-to-noise ratio was obtained with lower iteration and population number. • Implementation and Evaluation of a Comprehensive Li-Fi System Using Matlab/Simulink: Li-Fi technology is a type of visible light communication that uses LEDs as a data transmission source. Li-Fi is expected to occupy an important place in wireless network technology by providing high-speed internet access and having high bandwidth. It may be a common technology to provide internet access instead of Wi-Fi in places where radio waves are inconvenient, such as hospitals and airplanes. In this paper, a comprehensive Li-Fi system model implemented using Simulink® is proposed and evaluated. The model is equipped with a mirror and a thin convex lens to increase the efficiency of the Li-Fi system by reflecting and focusing the light beam emitted from the LEDs. The result obtained from the evaluation test shows that the output signal from the model of the proposed Li-Fi system is much higher than that of the basic Li-Fi system. Thus, using the proposed comprehensive model, more efficient Li-Fi systems can be realized. (April 2022)

  • LED Selection Algorithm for Indoor Li-Fi Systems: Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is a wireless visible light communication technique in which data is transmitted by light emmitting diodes (LEDs). However, this technology is still in the development stage and there are some problems that need to be overcome. One of these problems is disruptive effect of inter-symbol interference (ISI) at high speeds. Optical signals reaching a receiver from different paths cause ISI and increase in ISI decreases SNR. In this study, we presented an LED selection algorithm for indoor Li-Fi Systems in order to reduce ISI effect.
